Lockwood woman charged with arson


A woman in Tioga County faces felony charges for allegedly intentionally setting a vehicle on fire.

Sheriff officials said Samantha McKibbin, 39, of Lockwood, was arrested following an investigation into the Dec. 7 incident on Coy Hill Road in the town of Spencer.

Tioga County Sheriff’s investigators say McKibbin is accused of intentionally setting a vehicle on fire which then damaged a nearby house.

In addition to arson and criminal mischief, McKibbin is charged with criminal mischief.

She was released on her own recognizance following her arraignment.

A press release from the Tioga County Sheriff’s Office did not indicate whether there had been any injuries resulting from the fire or the extent of the damage to the vehicle and the home.
