Important Stones from Phillips’ New York Jewelry Auction – JCK


On Thursday, the Phillips auction house is holding its New York sale including 156 lots of jewelry. Among them are signed pieces from jewelers such as Van Cleef & Arpels, Bulgari and Harry Winston, as well as vintage and antique works from French manufacturers such as Suzanne Belperron and Lacloche. The selection, brought to market for the first time from private collections, highlights all the important eras of jewelry design with items dating back to the 1700s.

“After a banner year for jewelry at Phillips, I’m proud to close out our spring season with such a strong selection of pieces,” said Sara Thomeier, Phillips Head of Jewelry for the Americas. JCK. “The market for rare and significant stones, as well as signed jewelry, has been met with huge international demand, and our June sale lives up to expectations. From a private collection of 70 pieces of jewelry that showcase more from three centuries of jewelry design to a unique set of Belperron jewelry crafted in 1951, the auction features rare materials on the market in a wide range of tastes and price points.

The headliner of the sale is a 17.62 ct coin. an emerald-cut diamond and platinum ring estimated to be priced between $850,000 and $1,250,000, and a mixed-cut sapphire and diamond ring estimated to be between $600,000 and $800,000. Other notable pieces include a vintage Suzanne Belperron suite of brooch, ear clips and ring, and a dazzling Lacloche necklace with 54.7 carats of diamonds. Below is an overview of these parts.
