Eddie Van Halen’s guitars and extensive Prince collection on display at upcoming auction
Five Eddie Van Halen guitars played and designed by the late musical legend are among the memorabilia offered for sale for Julien’s auctions This weekend.
Musical instruments in the Charvel EVH Art series are inscribed with the dates Van Halen played them and include certificates of authenticity, according to Julien.
According to the auction service, the “guitars have a conservative estimate of $ 30,000 to $ 50,000″ each.
The latest: Five Eddie Van Halen guitars played and designed by the late musical legend are among the memorabilia going on sale for Julien’s Auctions this weekend, along with outfits and an instrument from the late Prince.
The auction comes about eight months after the death of the iconic rock star, who died on October 6 at age 65 from cancer.
Additionally, a custom-designed Ludwig drum kit by Eddie’s brother Alex Van Halen will also be put on the block.
âThis 1980 Van Halen Invasion World Tour kit was on display for 5 years at the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in Cleveland,â Alex said in a statement via the auction service.
The drum kit is “the only one like this in the world and I’m happy that 100% of the sale price goes to charity through the Frangioni Foundation and Mr. Holland’s Opus,” said Alex.

There are a number of unique Prince items up for grabs, including a 1994 blue Cloud guitar valued at between $ 60,000 and $ 80,000; a 14-karat white gold necklace with 63 round diamonds valued at between $ 8,000 and $ 10,000; and several outfits that the Purple Rain artist wore on stage.
The When Doves Cry artist died in April 2016 at the age of 57 following an accidental fentanyl overdose.
Over 1,000 items, ranging from instruments to costumes and memorabilia will be on sale from artists such as Madonna, The Beatles, Bob Dylan, Whitney Houston, Cher, Lady Gaga, Elton John and more in the auction.

The auction will take place June 11-13 at their Beverly Hills-based Julien’s Auctions and online at juliensauctions.com.
