Saint Lucia County – Tuesday, August 2, 2022: Bidders participating in the Summer Hunger online auction have helped the Treasure Coast Food Bank raise more than $16,000, enough to provide 131,576 meals to children in need this summer.
“We are so grateful to everyone who participated in our Summer Hunger online auction,” said Judith Cruz, President and CEO of Treasure Coast Food Bank. “Summer is always a difficult time for families struggling to make ends meet, and this year with rising costs, it’s especially important to have additional support for our programs that help the most vulnerable in the community.
The auction, which ended in June, featured more than 100 items, including theme park passes, entertainment tickets, restaurant gift cards and several works of art.
“Thank you to all of the businesses and individuals who donated items to our auction, and thank you to everyone who made a bid,” Cruz said. “It was more than an offer for a gift. It was an attempt to overcome hunger.
