The bladed glove worn by Johnny Depp in Edward Scissorhands is up for auction and is expected to sell for up to $50,000.

The mechanical prop was used in the film’s iconic scene when the character Edward used his blades to turn an ice angel into a flurry of snow for Kim, played by Winona Ryder.

It was put up for auction after Amber Heard mocked fans for believing Depp actually had blades on his fingers after losing $8 million in a defamation lawsuit in which she accused the actor of sexual assault.

During the interview, which was pre-recorded Thursday after the actress flew to New York on a private jet from Washington DC, Heard accused trial jurors of being duped by her ex-husband.

She called him nothing more than a ‘fantastic actor’ who ‘convinced the world he had scissors for his fingers’, in a bizarre reference to his performance as Edward Scissorhands in the 1990 Tim Burton movie.

Then a Depp fan joked, “I personally just want him to sue her for saying he doesn’t really have scissors for his hands.” This one cut deep. No pun intended.

Another said: ‘He convinced us all he had scissors for his hands and he really doesn’t!?

‘And after? Are we going to find out that he’s not really a pirate and doesn’t own a chocolate factory!? How can this man get away with all this!?’

The glove on sale is described as showing “significant wear and aging to the foam rubber element”, but already three online bids have been placed – the highest at $20,000.

It is on sale with auction house Propstore and will be auctioned in Los Angeles on June 21.

Earlier this month, a jury ruled that Heard defamed her ex-husband by publishing an article about being a sexual assault survivor in The Washington Post.

She was ordered to pay Depp $10 million in compensatory damages and $5 million in punitive damages, though the second payment was reduced to $350,000 by Virginia law by the judge.

She was awarded a relatively paltry $2 million in compensatory damages, meaning Depp, 59, backed out of the case, with Heard owing him $8.35 million.

Meanwhile, other horror movie items also up for grabs in the same sale include jackets from vampire classic The Lost Boys, which are expected to sell for up to £95,000.
