HANOVER – A juried art exhibition, carnival, three-way basketball, live music, a vintage car show and fireworks. This is the lineup for the annual Hannover Day celebration this year.
The event will take place on Friday and Saturday June 24 and 25 in the center of Hannover. He is free to attend festivities other than the carnival. Costs to attend events vary.
“It’s a city-wide celebration of all that is great about living in Hanover,” said Hanover Culture Council chairman Chris Haraden.
Hannover Day started in 2005 and took a pandemic-related break in 2020 and 2021. It started as a small craft fair. About 10 years ago, the cultural council expanded the event, making Hannover Party what it is today, Haraden said. The event is a fundraiser for the cultural council, which provides grants for arts and humanities efforts.
Haraden and Karen Cass are the co-chairs of Hanover Day. The event is planned with the help of 27 volunteers.
“Everyone is reaching out in some way to get people to help out,” Haraden said.
