A regional auctioneer has set up a new auction house near Holt in Norfolk.

Bishop & Miller of Stowmarket was launched in 2015 and since then the business has grown.

He is now opening a dedicated 3,000 square foot auction gallery in Glandford where he is to hold a series of sales.

The first of these will be the East Anglian auction, a sale of objects linked to the region and its rich artistic history.

This year will be followed by a Folk, Function & Frivolity, Maritime antiques, Whiskey and Wine, Modern and Contemporary, Sartorial Elegance auction and a Collection from the South Coast.

More than 24 sales are planned for next year – while an additional 1,000 square feet will be added as part of the second phase of work at the Glandford site – where the workforce will also be reinforced .

The business – which started with a team of four – has grown to a workforce of 21 across both locations.

General manager Oliver Miller said: “It’s a really exciting time for us at the moment, we have a lot to do.

“The new site is going to offer a huge range of auctions and being in a brand new building is wonderful – we can put our own stamp on it. We have a busy auction calendar from September to Christmas in our Suffolk and Norfolk locations so there really is a lot to look forward to.
