The full history is a bit of a mystery but some say that a rancher created the co*cktail in the 1960's. It gradually became more popular until now it is the drink of summer.

Made with Topo Chico mineral water that has been bottled in Monterey, Mexico since 1895.

This co*cktail is considered the new Aperol Spritz of summer co*cktails. The perfect combination of silver blanco tequila, lime juice, and Topo Chico!

This co*cktail is being referred to as a Skinny Margarita.

All you need to make a Ranch Water co*cktail is 3 simple ingredients!

Garnish - Lime Wedge or lime wheels

What is the best tequila for Ranch Water?

The best tequila is the one you have available. A Blanco tequila is the tequila of choice. You want to use a clear mild tequila.

If you like the flavor of tequila you can use a reposado or mezcal to change up the flavor.

Optional customizations:

Add a splash of Grapefruit juice

Rim the glass with chile-lime salt, Tajin

Add in muddled jalapeno slices

Use flavored Topo Chico (twist of lime, twist of grapefruit, or twist of tangerine)

You can change the amount of tequila in this co*cktail recipe to make it lighter or stronger.

If you are serving a crowd you can make this ranch water recipe in a pitcher by tripling or more the recipe below.

If you can't find Topo Chico you can use any sparkling mineral water. We are starting to see Topo Chico in our local grocery stores year-round.

You can totally customize this summer co*cktail to your taste! Add in more or less lime juice, more or less tequila, more or less Topo Chico...you get the picture. The best part is you can make it depending on your mood, how hot the day is, or if you just need a bit more of one thing over another.

To make this refreshing co*cktail a bit tangier you can rim the glass with spicy salt or throw in a few jalapeno slices muddles at the bottom.

For a fruitier flavor add a dash of grapefruit juice.

If you don't have a collins glass handy you can always sip or pour out some of the Topo Chico and then pour the tequila and lime juice straight into the bottle. Put the cap on and turn it once or twice to mix and you have a refreshing co*cktail ready to go. So easy to make and it tastes honestly amazing.
