Over 30,000 runners are set to take to the streets in Manchester for the city's annual marathon today.
The UK's second largest marathon started at 8.55am this morning from Old Trafford, and will follow a 26.2mile route around the city.
Runners will pass through places including Altrincham, Stretford, Chorlton, Castlefield and Sale.
Several road closures are in place in Greater Manchester between 3am and 8pm today both on and around the marathon route.
Major roads closed to traffic include a section of the A56 Chester Road between Altrincham and Deansgate.

People are also advised to allow extra time for their journeys, and use the city's tram network, the Metrolink, to travel to and from the marathon.
The Manchester Marathon has been annually in April since 1908, with the current course starting and terminating in Trafford.
It has been claimed to be the 'flattest' marathon race in the UK, with only 54 metres of elevation.
More recently, the event was mired in controversy after three years of race times were declared invalid after the route was found to be 380m short of a true marathon, which is 26 miles and 385 yards.
Thousands of runners who participated between 2013 and 2015 have finish times unrecognised by UK Athletics, before the error was corrected in time for the 2016 edition.
Last year's event was attended by 24,000 people and raised over £2million for charity.
