"Love Embers and Flame" is sublime. It really is, to my ears, a Jackie Gleason masterpiece. This album has it all: Love, romance, passion and is sumptuous and lush in richness of orchestration, arrangements, and performance. I waited years to see this album appear on CD after being unavailable far too long. Now it's on YT. The orchestrations are for a double string orchestra, with a blend of other instruments, such as piano, celeste and mellow brass horns. Jackie Gleason used various combinations of instruments in most of his albums, making his music a little unpredictable at times, but always interesting. Here we have Gleason in a purely romantic mood: sophisticated, suave, and classy. The arrangements are by George Williams, a very talented Hollywood arranger active in the 1950s and 60s. Many if not most of Gleason's albums owe a good part of their success to George Williams, as well as the fabulous Hollywood musicians who played his charts. ... Light up the fireplace, turn down nhe lights, and enjoy glass of wine with your wife, turn up the music and enjoy. It's. ... Great Instrumental Music ... I hope you enjoy it!

This album, needs very
few words of explanation. To millions it's another
superb package of mood music to add to a record
collection that probably includes several, if not
all, of Jackie's previous albums. For over the past
few years Gleason has established himself rather
firmly as the undisputed master of a special kind
of "listenin' music" — lush instrumental music
that not only helps to create an atmosphere of
relaxation, but also frequently proves to be the
ideal complement to a quiet, romantic setting.
Once more it's the unmistakable sound of the
famed Gleason strings — here, two string orchestras —
imparting their rich, full-voiced beauty to
a dozen lovely ballads. Solo phrases are exchanged
from opposite sides of the Stereo stage by piano
and celeste on some tracks, mellow trombones and
trumpets on others, and each orchestration is
varied in mood and color, even as the moods of love
so often vary from smoldering embers to bright-
burning flame.
It's music in the very best Jackie Gleason tradition,
smooth arrangements designed to suit an
evening of dancing, romancing, or easy listening.

John Herbert Gleason (February 26, 1916 – June 24, 1987), known as Jackie Gleason, was an American actor, comedian, writer, and composer also known as "The Great One". He developed a style and characters from growing up in Brooklyn, New York, and was known for his brash visual and verbal comedy, exemplified by his city bus driver character Ralph Kramden in the television series The Honeymooners. He also developed The Jackie Gleason Show, which maintained high ratings from the mid-1950s through 1970. The series originated in New York City, but filming moved to Miami Beach, Florida, in 1964 after Gleason took up permanent residence there.

Among his notable film roles were Minnesota Fats in 1961's The Hustler (co-starring with Paul Newman) and Buford T. Justice in the Smokey and the Bandit trilogy from 1977 to 1983 (co-starring Burt Reynolds).

Gleason enjoyed a prominent secondary music career during the 1950s and 1960s, producing a series of bestselling "mood music" albums. His first album Music for Lovers Only still holds the record for the longest stay on the Billboard Top Ten Charts (153 weeks), and his first ten albums sold over a million copies each. His output includes more than 20 singles, nearly 60 long-playing record albums, and more than 40 CDs. ... Gleason was born on February 26, 1916, at 364 Chauncey Street in the Stuyvesant Heights (now Bedford–Stuyvesant) section of Brooklyn. ...

George Dale "The Fox" Williams (November 5, 1917 – April 17, 1988) was a musician, composer, and an arranger for a number of major big bands, including Jimmie Lunceford, Glenn Miller, Gene Krupa, Sonny Dunham, and Ray Anthony.

He co-wrote and arranged the hit song "It Must Be Jelly ('Cause Jam Don't Shake like That)" with pianist Chummy MacGregor for Glenn Miller and "Gene's Boogie" with Gene Krupa. He arranged "Hamp's Boogie Woogie" for Lionel Hampton. He co-wrote with Ray Anthony his hit songs "Lackawanna Local" and "The Fox" and arranged "The Bunny Hop", co-written by Ray Anthony, and most of Anthony's recorded arrangements. He wrote arrangements for Harry James, Vaughan Monroe, Charlie Ventura, and his recording band, for which he produced two LPs and an EP in the late 1950s as a leader. In addition, he arranged and conducted the music for Barbra Streisand's first commercial single, "Happy Days Are Here Again". Williams was a ghostwriter for the arrangements on Jackie Gleason's television show and arranged Gleason's albums in the 1950s and 1960s. ... -- Wikipedia
