Grilled Chicken Avocado Wrap with sour cream and spinach, a delicious, quick and easy recipe for lunch for a light dinner. It's packed with amazing flavours and health benefits, and it's ready in less than 15 minutes. Great for kids and grown-ups alike, this delicious wrap can be made with leftover or rotisserie chicken too.
New Year, new resolutions. And the most famous one: losing weight. I know, December was a hell of a month, too much shopping, eating and drinking. So a healthier January may sound like a good plan. Although in reality statistics show that the eating healthily doesn't really last that long around this time of the year. Oh well, at least we try.
But you know what, quick healthy recipes can be truly delicious and super easy to make. Take this wrap, it has got the healthiest stuff you can ask for:
- avocados, known for the countless health benefits
- spinach, a super leaf loaded with vitamins and minerals
- chicken, an easy and light meat that can safely be consumed if you are on a diet.
Chicken can be replaced with any lean meat, like turkey. I have tried it in this Healthy leftover turkey wraps with cranberry sauceand it was really delicious. Same goes for leftover beef, lamb or pulled pork.

This wrap is so easy to make, and it can be tweaked to your own liking:

- sour cream can be replaced with creme fraiche or yogurt
- spinach can be replaced with green salad
- wholemeal tortilla wraps can be swapped for white flour or corn tortilla wraps

- Peel and slice the avocado, then squeeze the lemon juice over.

- Spread the sour cream on one side of the wrap, sprinkle the grated cheese over, then add the chicken, spinach and avocado.

Recipe FAQs
How do you keep avocados from browning?
Avocados, as healthy and delicious as they are, tend to brown very quickly. So, in order to keep them fresh for longer, here is a trick. Once you peel and cut the avocados, squeeze some lemon juice over the cut slices, that will prevent them from browning. Be generous with the amount of lemon juice, they will taste even better.
How many calories are in a chicken avocado wrap?
Only 342! And trust me, this wrap will keep you fuller for quite a long time, so you won't feel like snacking shortly after you had your meal. And it's the perfect meal on the go, great as a working lunch, picnic food, or just a light dinner.

Oh woah, I just made these and they are so yummy! Had to substitute baby spinach with baby kale, because the supermarket was out of spinach. Only downside is...I only made one per person :')Reply
Daniela Anderson
I am so pleased that you liked the wrap, l should give kale a try too. I need to make a bigger batch too, they disappear quickly.

Your wrap looks toasted on the outside. Is it my imagination? I was thinking of toasting mine but wasn't sure the best method for doing so.

Daniela Anderson
Hi Chrisana, thank you for your comment! I have placed the tortilla wraps on a hot grill pan for a about 20-30 seconds on each side just to get them warm and make the folding easier. They also get a very nice taste from it. Let me know if that helps!

Are they good not served immediately?
Reply
Daniela Anderson
Hi Abi! Thank you for your comment. They are good served later on too, altough l like eating the avocado fresh, using lemon helps it keep it green and fresh for longer, but l would not leave it for too many hours though, just in case the taste is not as good.

Hi There! Love this recipe! Does one chicken breast do 3 servings?
Reply
Daniela Anderson
Hi! Thank you for your comment! Yes, one chicken breast is fine, given that we use other ingredients too and you can't add too much to a tortilla wrap, it won't wrap well anymore. Plus now it also depends on the side of the chicken breast, some shops sell rather big ones, so the amounts are always approximate.

This became my #1 favorite wrap when I first found this recipe 5years ago. Quick and easy to prepare, healthy, and oh so delicious. There is no need for yogurt, bacon, baslamic vinegar or any of the other things you find in all the other chicken avocado wrap recipes. With these four ingredients Tightly wrapped with a low carb tortilla, my life is complete!Reply
