My grandmother’s pound cake tastes like moist, dense angel food cake. Even friends who don’t like pound cake love this pound cake! Don’t bother figuring up calories; I’m sure it’s off the charts. I’m telling you, this cake is heavenly. But I’m convinced that somehow, in heaven, it’ll be good for you!
Granmama’s Pound Cake Recipe
Ingredients:
- 3 sticks butter, softened
- 3 cups sugar
- 3 cups cake flour
- 1 Tbsp vanilla
- 5 eggs
- 1 cup milk
Instructions:
- Cream together butter and sugar.
- Gradually add remaining ingredients and mix on medium/high ’til fluffy and smooth.
- Pour into greased and floured Bundt cake pan, and bake 1.5 hours at 300 degrees.
Enjoy!
Fabulous with a cup of coffee – or tea!

That does look heavenly! I am writing this one down. There is a time and place for such a cake as this. Thank you!

That looks so good! I like toasting pound cake in the morning and having it with coffee. Something about the crunchy (that and I put a little butter on it to melt like making buttered toast.) You made me hungry for pound cake!

I made this cake for Thanksgiving. It was a hit! I’m making another one for my mom’s bday.

Awesome! I took it to our Sunday school class Christmas party and it cracked me up when one of my friends (who apparently reads my blog) said, “You’re right; this cake is blog-worthy!”

Weird question. I know traditionally, you’re supposed to use a bundt cake pan for a pound cake, but is it completely necessary? I ask because I don’t have a regular oven, and a regular sized bundt pan wouldn’t fit in my Ninja 3-1.What would be a good substitute for it?

Hmm… might take a little experimentation. Might have to do it in more than one pan, like a layer cake?

Have you ever tried this in a loaf pan? If so, what are the baking instructions?

It’s specifically labeled “cake flour” at the store. Hope that helps!

Whatever I have on hand. 🙂 Usually that’s unsalted but I’ve made it with salted as well.
