A significant part of the IT Department is located in Breda from where IT Services are developed and provided for various BMW entities and the European market.

Whom are we looking for?

BMW Financial Services Nederland B.V. is looking for a professional that is expert in maintenance management, requirements management and vendor management of a financial services software.

The financial software is providing the business functionality of IRBA Assessment (internal rating based approach) for banks based on Informatica PowerCenter and Oracle database. The application IRBA Assessment is an individually developed and customized software, maintained and operated by an external vendor.

It is expected that the right candidate will demonstrate seniority by comprehending a long and complicated process, by maintaining overview and by guiding different stakeholders to achieve the desired outcome. Although this role has a strong technical/ analytical focus, soft-skills are equally important for interaction with the different vendors and business to analyze issues and assess new requirements.

In this critical role, you will play a pivotal part in shaping the success of our data-driven strategies by ensuring seamless alignment between technical solutions and business needs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Requirements Analysis: Conduct thorough analysis of business requirements, translating them into comprehensive technical specifications and validating the requirements with data in SQL.
  • Vendor Management: Liaise with the external providers to ensure timely updates, bug fixes, defect analysis, and enhancements are delivered as per service level agreement (SLAs) or purchased.
  • Orchestration Mastery: Demonstrate expertise in orchestrating requirements across the entire development lifecycle, ensuring a harmonious integration of business needs and technical solutions. Prepare release, manage environments, participate in knowledge transfer sessions, orchestrate deployments based on the software provided by the vendor in alignment with our CI/CD solution (prepare and check content of releases, support in case of issues/deployment conflicts, etc.) and the segregation of duty principles of financial services. Ensure the vendor follows pre-defined and aligned template approach to harmonize implementation and minimize maintenance effort.
  • Documentation Excellence: Create or review detailed documentation of requirements, design specifications, and change requests, serving as a reliable reference for development teams and stakeholders. Keep documentation up-to-date.
  • Quality Assurance: Oversee the quality of maintenance activities performed by the external providers to ensure they meet the application’s standards and requirements and collaborate with the team to develop test cases that validate the successful implementation of requirements, ensuring the delivery of high-quality solutions. Ensure overall performance of the IRBA application and execute regular performance and security tests.
  • Budget management: Support budget management team and validate effort estimation provided by the external provider and ensuring cost-effectiveness of maintenance activities. Assess effort, request and steer budget end to end for technical lifecycle management (TLM), e.g. pen tests, pen test fixes, upgrades and updates, migration, etc. and assure successful implementation.
  • Communication: Maintain open communication channels with stakeholders, including business users in Germany, Italy, Spain, Portugal and France, management, and the external provider, to ensure alignment of expectations and timely dissemination of information. Support business users during UAT (user acceptance testing), e.g. start workflows on request, do analysis in case of open topics, ensure testcases are performed during UAT, etc.
  • Continuous Improvement: Drive continuous improvement initiatives in requirements management processes, staying abreast of industry best practices and emerging technologies (e.g. upgrade of Informatica PowerCenter to Informatica IDMC or Oracle database to Snowflake). Update the current roles and rights concept together with the migration of the current roles and rights management system to a new solution. Onboarding of users on our privileged access management solution (PAM) as well as regular updates of Oracle database security and deployment of Oracle database patches through our self-service portal on a regular bases.
  • Agile working: Work in SPRINT cycles of 4 weeks, prioritize user stories, manage capacity/ time conflicts and pull proactively tasks from the backlog. Ensure that user stories are refined and challenged from IT side. In addition, support of project management outside of agile working model is required.

  • Team setup: Agile working with 6-8 team members, mostly having 4 week sprints in SPRINT methodology
  • Communication in English (spoken and written)
  • Expert knowledge in SQL (mainly Oracle SQL) and Oracle data cloning with data pumps.
  • Expert knowledge in Informatica PowerCenter with related orchestration concepts.
  • Experience in deploying complex business logic and understanding of deployment processes.
  • Extensive experience in requirements management.
  • Self-starter attitude and ability to work autonomously.
  • Proven ability to communicate effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Strong orchestration skills to align business needs with technical solutions seamlessly.
  • Detail-oriented with a focus on producing high-quality documentation.
  • Knowledge in banking business is helpful.
