This Sunday you can watch and hear an alternative view on climate change and Net Zero, and ask questions

Not to be missed! We are pleased to invite you to the next Global Discussion Forum (GDF) which will take place this Sunday morning, 04 Aug 2024, and which will be live-streamed on YouTube. The topic is “Climate Change and Net Zero – Challenging the Orthodoxy”. This is your chance to hear an alternative view and to question our hugely controversial keynote speaker.

Professor Ian Plimer has managed to upset people around the world, from the professional climate change lobby to mainstream media in Australia and even in the United Kingdom (the Guardian). As Facts4EU.Org is an upholder of freedom of expression, we are pleased to provide a platform for readers to watch and listen to an alternative viewpoint on the topic of Climate Change and Net Zero. We leave readers to watch and to make up their own minds.

This event will be streamed around the world from London, Sydney, Melbourne, and the South of France and is a GDF co-production between Facts4EU.Org, CIBUK.Org, and Commanding the Narrative.

About Professor Plimer

Professor Plimer is a Fellow of the Australian Academy of Technological Sciences and Engineering, the Australian Institute of Geoscientists, and the Australasian Institute of Mining and Metallurgy. He is also an honorary Fellow of the Geological Society of London, a member of the Geological Society of Australia, of the Royal Society of South Australia, and of the Royal Society of New South Wales.

Observations

We are delighted to have Professor Plimer as our keynote speaker addressing us all on Sunday. He will provide information and make arguments which present an alternative viewpoint to the prevailing orthodoxy which we all receive from the mainstream media and our governments.

Here’s what our Chairman has to say about Professor Plimer :-

“Ian is a very controversial figure on the world stage and is fearless. He is also an excellent speaker with that rare ability to condense complex science into simple explanations for the layman. Whether you agree with him or not, you will not be bored.”

Professor Plimer will be introduced by Facts4EU.Org’s Chairman after which he will give us all a summary of his views for around five minutes. Our moderator Steven Tripp will then open this up to questions from online attendees, when the Professor will expand on the subject matter in more depth.

We are sure this will be a fascinating discussion for all our UK, Antipodean, European, American and Asian members. We hope you can attend the event this Sunday. You will be most welcome. To be sent the link to attend, please contact the Admin Office at CIBUK.Org who are handling the guest list here.

We hope readers will appreciate this opportunity to hear an alternative viewpoint

Let's be honest. You're not going to hear an alternative argument to the whole 'climate change' and Net Zero debate on the BBC, Sky News, or ITN. This is now 'settled science' in the same way the disastrous Covid lockdowns were based on 'settled science' in 2020 and 2021. As we all now know, the 'science' underpinning lockdowns simply ignored the terrible effects they had on excess deaths, mental health, the economy, the attitude to working from the office and indeed working generally, and especially on our young people.

If you value a voice for freedom of expression, please, please help us to carry on our vital work in defence of independence, sovereignty, democracy and freedoms by donating today. Thank you.

This Net Zero is going to cost the country like nothing we have ever seen
Our Climate law states that we have to be completely Carbon-free by 2050 and the cost to the country estimated just a couple of years ago to achieve it will be £1 trillion.
Now as we know when we cost things in this country they always go way beyond the first figure given, so I fully expect by 2050 we will have spent £4 trillion on achieving Net Zero.
Who is paying for it? Taxpayers because the Gov has no money until they tax us or borrow the money and even then the taxpayer has to pay the interest.
There are a select few in this country who are going to make billions out of this Net Zero. One of them is Vince who has been cosying up to both the Tories and Labour. The reason is that his business gets grants from the government they give him X amount of millions to build solar and wind turbines, in turn like has done with Labour he gives back £1. 5 billion as a sweetener to keep the money rolling in.
Just one big con

10 inconvenient facts about climate change
.
10, We're in an ice age, in a relatively cold interglacial period.
.
9, Modern thermometers were invented during the little ice age
.
8, Over the last 150 years there is temperature data for less than 50% of the Earth's surface.
.
7, For most of Earth's history atmospheric CO2 was far higher than at present.
.
6, The famous 97% consensus only applies to the basic concepts, not to the claim of a "climate crisis".
.
5, CO2 only has a small direct warming effect
.
4, The IPCC doesn't use the terms "emergency", "Crisis" or "catastrophe" to describe climate change.
.
3, The IPCC denies a connection between greenhouse gases and most types of extreme weather.
.
2, Most studies of the impacts of climate change are based on emission scenarios that are known to be exaggerated an implausible.
.
1, Climate models warm too much at the surface and in the atmosphere.
.
If climate sensitivity is on the low end of the model range, economists have shown we shouldn't waste money trying to stop global warming.

FAQs

What is the difference between climate change and net zero? ›

This is in response to climate science showing that in order to halt climate change, carbon emissions have to stop – reducing them is not sufficient. 'Net zero' means that any emissions are balanced by absorbing an equivalent amount from the atmosphere.

What is the net zero solution to climate change? ›

Net zero refers to a state in which the greenhouse gases going into the atmosphere are balanced by removal out of the atmosphere. The term net zero is important because – for CO2 at least – this is the state at which global warming stops. The Paris Agreement underlines the need for net zero.

Why is net zero by 2050 not good enough? ›

Even if we achieve net zero by 2050, oceanic release of CO2 will result in the retention in the atmosphere by 2050 of a large amount of our prior CO2 emissions, meaning a sustained level of warmth (or more likely a slow increase in warmth as more ice melts and albedo decreases further as a result).

Which country is the only country in the world that is carbon negative? ›

Bhutan is the world's first carbon-negative country; its vast forests absorb more carbon dioxide (CO2) than the country emits from all activities.

How close are we to net zero? ›

Is the World on Track to Reach Net-Zero Emissions on Time? No — despite the enormous benefits of climate action to date, progress is happening far too slowly for the world to hold temperature rise to 1.5 degrees C (2.7 degrees F).

Which country has achieved the target of net zero emissions already? ›

Guyana. Guyana is another tree-canopy-rich country, which sits on the northern coast of South America surrounded by Amazon rainforest. Having already achieved net zero emissions, the country is aiming for a further 70% cut in emissions by 2030.

What is the difference between climate positive and net zero? ›

Climate positive (or sometimes referred to as "carbon negative") is the end goal. Net zero is but one (big) milestone. From the year 2050 onward, we need to remove more greenhouse gases from the atmosphere than we emit in order to ensure a safe climate for generations to come.

What is the difference between climate neutrality and net zero emissions? ›

Another term often tossed into the mix is "climate neutrality." Climate neutral, is a broader concept that encompasses not only the reduction and neutralisation of greenhouse gas emissions (net-zero) but also considers the holistic impact of a business or organisation on the environment.

Will net zero stop climate change? ›

Reaching net zero earlier in that range (closer to 2050) avoids a risk of temporarily "overshooting," or exceeding 1.5 degrees C. Reaching net zero later (nearer to 2060) almost guarantees surpassing 1.5 degrees C for some time before global temperature can be reduced back to safer limits through carbon removal.

What does net zero mean in simple terms? ›

Put simply, net zero refers to the balance between the amount of greenhouse gas (GHG) that's produced and the amount that's removed from the atmosphere. It can be achieved through a combination of emission reduction and emission removal.
